I am a self-taught oil painter based in Calgary, Alberta, inspired by the nature and landscapes of Western Canada. Working on canvas and wood panel, I paint mountains, lakes, forests, sunsets, birds, and florals, combining soft, blurred backgrounds with richly textured foregrounds. My process is shaped by aphantasia, which prevents me from recalling visual imagery. Long walks, field photography, and close observation help me preserve moments I cannot revisit in my mind and form the foundation of my compositions.
